June 16th~ I ♥ Faces: Sepia Toned

I had a difficult time choosing which sepia toned photo I wanted to enter into the I ♥ Faces Sepia contest this week. I decided this one spoke to me the most. I totally love the fact that, for the most part, Da'Gorgeouses get along so well. Makes me feel better about having them later in life, at least they'll have each other!

Feb 9~ I ♥ Faces "Silly" Kids Entry

This pic was taken with my point & shoot camera, when I saw the category was Silly, I thought of this one immediately! Every time I see it, it makes me laugh. It was taken right outside of Costco after we had just purchased those jammies for them. We had originally given them to Da'Gorgeouses to keep the wind off of them, but they quickly turned it into a silly game! Collages: What A Great IDEA!!

Angie & Amy over at I ♥ Faces do an amazing job each and every week. At the end of the week they take the time to make a few collages that represent some of the entries posted that week. January 26th~ I ♥ Faces Adult Entry--JOY

Only because something in the back of my mind kept nagging me to enter this photo of my sister did I do it. I suppose it's because I find it very difficult to capture adult emotions. It's not because we don't show them, I think it's because we're too cognizant of what we might look like when a camera is in the room.

Anyway, my sis (aka Tia Na-Na) happens to be the original Pistol (everyone says we cloned her, and even some of her friends have told her that she went and had a baby and just gave her to me---LOL!). BTW, none of those are true, except the fact that they are VERY much alike in personality and luckily for me, very expressive!

January 26th~ I ♥ Faces Kids Entry--JOY

Pistol is just super expressive. Whether she's having a blast playing, or
just down right fussy, she wears her heart and all her emotions right
on her face!

This wasn't an easy photo to catch, I have a lot of trouble with
action shots, but somehow the planets aligned and I was able to catch this one of pure
JOY as she enjoyed the speed of the swing and the wind in her hair.

January 19th ~ I ♥ Faces Kids Entry

Since I entered Pistol's pic last week (& I have that mama guilt about fairness) I thought I'd enter one of LongRifle this week. Although I like a lot of the more recent photos I've taken of LongRifle, this one I took back in April of last year really tugs at my heart strings. It must be because she was sick that week and just looking at this photo reminds me how quiet and still she was. Quiet and still are not two words I'd ever use to describe LongRifle on any healthy day---LOL! And only when she's sick do her eyes stop and look like that. She's usually busy taking everything in, and any movement generally catches her eye.

Of course, I do have to say since I've taken THOUSANDS of pictures of them from the day they were born, they are quite used to the camera, and generally ignore me (or bum rush me because they know it makes me CRAZY!).

January 12th~ I Heart Faces Kids Entry

So I've decided to try and enter the weekly competition that I heart faces photography blog has every week. Taking pictures of faces is something I'd really like to get better at, and since I have the most wonderful subjects to take pictures of right here at home, why not practice, practice, practice?! This is my first entry under the Kids section, I really like this photo of Pistol because it really makes her beautiful lips, wonderfully smooth skin and round cheeks stand out, and lets not forget those LONG straight (sorry babe that's mama's fault) eyelashes. I also like it because it shows her doing what she does best THINKING!!
